Before proceeding with the migration steps, consider the following prerequisites for adding an existing On-Premise Poller to an On-Premise Poller Group.

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites apply to the existing On-Premise Poller, whether it has associated monitors or not:

The On-Premise Poller cannot be added to the On-Premise Poller Group if:

  • It is designated as a secondary location in any user-defined location profile.
  • It is currently down.
  • It is already part of another On-Premise Poller Group.
  • Its version is below 6.0.0.
  • It has an associated High Availability On-Premise Poller (standby), and the standby version is below 6.0.0.

The On-Premise Poller can be added if:

  • It is a system-generated location profile.
  • It is set as the primary location in any user-defined location profile.
  • When the primary On-Premise Poller is added to the group, its associated High Availability On-Premise Poller, if configured, will be added as the standby, while the primary On-Premise Poller continues its role as the main On-Premise Poller within the On-Premise Poller Group.

Steps to migrate to the On-Premise Poller Group

  1. Login to Site24x7.
  2. Click the On-Premise Poller you want to migrate.
  3. On the Summary page, locate the section Migrate to the On-Premise Poller Group. This section will display details about the location profiles and the monitors associated with the On-Premise Poller.
  4. Click Migrate.
  5. In the pop-up that opens, you can perform migration by either of two options:
    1. Create a new On-Premise Poller Group
    2. Add to an existing On-Premise Poller Group
  6. If you choose Create a new On-Premise Poller Group, a new group will be created, with the selected On-Premise Poller added as the primary. If this primary On-Premise Poller has any high availability associated with it, it will be added as the standby On-Premise Poller to the group.
  7. If you choose Add to an existing On-Premise Poller Group, a drop-down menu will appear, allowing you to select the On-Premise Poller Group to which the existing On-Premise Poller will be added.
Note

When an On-Premise Poller is migrated to an On-Premise Poller Group, its location in the user-defined location profile will be replaced with the location of the On-Premise Poller Group.
