How to configure Auto Upgrade Profile for server monitor

The Auto Upgrade Profile allows you to schedule and manage automated upgrades of your server monitoring agents in Site24x7. This document explains how to configure an Auto Upgrade Profile.

How to access Auto Upgrade Profile

To create or view an Auto Upgrade Profile, navigate to Admin > Server Monitor > Auto Upgrade Profile.

How to create or edit an Auto Upgrade Profile

Click Add Auto Upgrade Profile to create a new profile or click an existing profile to edit it. Fill the Auto Upgrade Profile by entering these details:

  1. Display Name: Provide a unique and descriptive name for the auto upgrade profile. Use names that indicate the scope or purpose of the upgrade (e.g., Web Servers Auto Upgrade).
  2. Profile Type: Select the type of agent for the upgrade. Server Monitoring Agent is the default option but you can select On-Premise Poller or APMInsight Auto Profiler as well.
  3. Select Resource Type: Choose the category of resources to which this upgrade applies: Monitors (selected by default), Monitor Groups, or Tags. Once an option is selected, select which monitors, groups, or tags this profile should apply to.
  4. In the UAT Configuration section:
    1. Enable Validations for UAT Resources: Toggle Yes to perform upgrades on selected UAT resources first. When this is enabled, only after successful upgrade of all agents in UAT hosts, other agents will be upgraded.
    2. Select Resource Type: Choose the category of resources that are UAT: Monitors (selected by default), Monitor Groups, or Tags. Once an option is selected, select which monitors, groups, or tags this profile should apply to.
  5. In the Recurrence Details section:
    1. Frequency: Select the frequency at which agent upgrade should be attempted. Available options are weekly, monthly, and yearly.
    2. Set Recurrence: For monthly and weekly frequencies, set the day(s) or date(s) the auto upgrade should be attempted on.
    3. All Day: Use this checkbox to attempt auto upgrades throughout the day.
    4. Start Time and Duration: Enter the preferred start time and duration of auto upgrade attempts.
  6. Set the Send the Upgrade Result via Email to Yes to receive the results of the agent upgrade action to your email.
  7. Click Save.

Click the hamburger icon to view options to either edit or delete an Auto Upgrade Profile.

Note

  • Agent upgrades will happen only when the respective server monitors are active i.e., not suspended, deleted, or in maintenance.
  • Agent upgrades are rolled out in phases depending on various best-practice parameters like geography, count, time zones, and more.
  • Make sure you have enabled auto upgrade of agents in your server monitor settings page .
